DESCRIPTION:
Domes- 3 (Three) Rectangular with Bases: (1) Rectangular style dome, 12 inches by 10 inches at the base by 15.5 inches high on 4.5 inch tall grain-painted wood base with turned feet, topped with red velvet. (2) Rectangular style dome, 8 inches by 5 inches at the base by 13 inches high on a molded ebonized base with turned feet. (3) Rectangular style dome, 8 inches by 5.5 inches at the base by 12 inches high on a molded ebonized base.
CONDITION:
Sold "as is". These rectangular domes were often used for French portico and French gilt metal clocks. If those clocks are found with no bezel with glass over the dial and no rear door, these clocks were originally under a dome to protect their movements and gilt decoration from dust and dirt. Unfortunately a large percentage of them have now lost their domes and replacements are difficult to find.
